PMC THANKSGIVING MASS

PMC children from the diocese celebrated their thanksgiving day on 18th November 2017 at the Cathedral church of Christ the King.The mass was animated by Njoro Deanery PMC.In his homily the bishop encouraged the children to discern their vocations and serve God as Priests,Sisters and Brothers.

The Bishop also introduced Fr Ndumia as the new PMS Director.Fr Ndumia takes over from Fr Ngigi.Sr Gathoni LSOSF who is the PMC coordinator encouraged the children to live up to their motto which is “children helping children”


BISHOP KORIR BURIED IN ELDORET

The late Bishop korir was buried in Eldoret on the 11th November 2017.This occasion was attended by thousands of people from all walks of life including the president and other dignitaries.The mass was held at the Eldoret sports club and later burial at the cathedral church of the sacred heart
Bishop Korir was consecrated on 2nd June 1990.His motto was “work for the food that endures for eternal life”(John 6:27)Based on this motto ,he embarked on the mission of evangelization and promotion of integral human development in the diocese of Eldoret and beyond.
Bishop Korir will be remembered as an ambassador of peace.As written in his eulogy Bishop korir fostered peace within the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret during the tribal clashes of 1992, 1997, 2002 and in 2007/2008.He also offered refuge to thousands of IDPS in the cathedral.

 

 


WAUMINI INSURANCE BROKERS

20th ANNIVERSARY AND BRANCH OPENING IN NAKURU
Located at the CDN Secretariat is the new branch of Waumini insurance brokers. The office was opened and blessed by Rt.Rev Wainaina –Bishop of Muranga who is also the Chair of the Board. This was done after a luncheon party at the same venue.
The Managing Director Madam Nancy Kawira thanked all the stakeholders for the effort they have done for the last 20 years. She also thanked the stakeholders who have supported them all those years. In her speech she thanked the Bishop of Nakuru who was represented by Fr Murimi for the cooperation and support to waumini. Madam Kawira hoped that now that the office is in Nakuru more customers will be able to receive the services.

 


KCCB MASS AT THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH CHRIST THE KING

The Catholic Bishops in Kenya had mass at the Cathedral church of Christ the King. This is after their plenary meeting at St. Mary’s Pastoral centre –Nakuru. The mass attended by hundreds of Christians was celebrated by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue. The homily was by Bishop Rotich who emphasized on love and unity.
After mass the Bishops gave a press release on the state of the Nation. The theme of was -A new heart and a new spirit(Ezekiel 36:26) .The Bishop warned people to stop hate speech and incitement. They also called for National Dialogue to ensure stability and lasting peace.


MASS FOR THE CDN DEPARTED PRIEST, RELIGIOUS AND BISHOP KORIR -BAHATI PARISH.

CHRISTIANS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO PRAY FOR THE DEAD.

The mass for the faithful departed Priests,Religious sisters was held on 6/11/2017 at St Augustine Bahati Parish.After the mass there was a procession to the Diocesan Cemetery which is in the church compound and also to LSOSF Cemetery.in this mass the Rt.Rev Maurice Muhatia -Bishop of Nakuru remembered to pray for the Late Bishop Korir who was once a priest in the Diocese of Nakuru.

In his homily the bishop said”God created us in his likeness so that we may be like him but due to sin we failed ;even in sin he saved us and cleanse us with the precious blood of Christ. We were redeemed by the death of Christ on the cross’.He continued to say that  If a Christian dies it is not the end of their relationship the living  are called to pray for them so that their souls may be cleansed and be redeemed from purgatory to heaven.
The bishop reminded the Christians to live a holy life and desire to die in a state of grace.  he said ‘May the priests Religious sisters and Bishop Korir who we are praying for today be cleansed ‘.
The Bishop also told the Christians that all people have a limit for their life and that God knows the right time for each one to die. He therefore encouraged all present to live a life pleasing to God.
