The Catholic Diocese of Nakuru celebrated the it’s annual Family Day on 1st September 2018 at Christ the King Ground -Nakuru.The mass was led by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue,Arch Bishop Kivuva,Bishop Oballa,Bishop Muhatia ,Very Rev Fr Maswili (Military) assisted by the priests Present.
The Cardinal congratulated the Christians of Nakuru for their commitment he also urged them to remain united through maintaining peace.in his homily Arch Bishop Kivuva also emphasized on peaceful coexistence he also asked the Christians to continue praying for the country and its leaders.
On self reliance the Arch -Bishop recalled the decision by AMECEA in 1977 encouraging the Dioceses to be independent in evangelization and sustainability.He thanked the faithful for their contributions that have continuously supported the Diocese of Nakuru.
Fr Kamau who is the Diocesan Financial Administrator informed the Christians of the money contributed during family day in the previous years.Fr Kamau said that this annual contributions has supported in building Rosa Mystical Building at the pastoral center,Assumption Plaza at the secretariat among other projects.He also said that the contributions made will support the building of Mater Dei at the pastoral center and the clergy retirement home.
After mass there was blessing of two new ambulances for Mercy Hospital -Eldama Ravine and Mercy Hospital Annex -Nakuru.
