Incepted on 11 January 1968, the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru is one of the 27 Dioceses in Kenya. It covers Nakuru and Baringo counties across 18,203 km2 and is served by over 190 priests, over 38 religious men and women congregations, and over 560 catechists.

Integrity promotes authentic faith in God. The Diocese encourages moral responsibility in all dealings, develops religious education and moral teaching, and invites service to others so actions fit convictions and lead people closer to God.
Human dignity is at the heart of Catholic teaching. It affirms that every person is created in God's image, promotes social justice, advocates for the marginalized, proclaims the worth of every human being, and encourages respect and compassion for life.

The Diocese's story is shown through evangelization, parish growth, pastoral leadership, institutions, and organized service across Nakuru and Baringo.
Since inception, diocesan leadership has included Very Rev. Monsignor Denis Newmann as Apostolic Administrator until 1979, Rt. Rev. Raphael Ndingi Mwana a' Nzeki, Rt. Rev. Peter Kairo, Rt. Rev. Philip Anyolo as Apostolic Administrator, Rt. Rev. Maurice Muhatia Makumba, Rt. Rev. David Kamau as Apostolic Administrator, and the current Bishop, Rt. Rev. Cleophas Oseso Tuka. Through immense evangelization, the Diocese supports 15 programmes and institutions spread across the parishes.
